An opportunity of a lifetime arose for Nicola Leonard of St Michael's
church when she decided to volunteer with 'Oasis' to work for people
in the community both in this country and abroad.

The second stage of Nicola's volunteer work has started in this country
in Immingham, near Grimsby. Follow all that that the Lord is asking her to
do here, expect regular updates.

Within two weeks, I think this has been the quickest voluntary tour that
the Oasis organisation has arranged so far, Nicky will be flying out to
Uganda ( Tuesday 15th September ) for 5 months to a small village about
two hours East of Kampala. She will be traveling with four other members
as a team to help people and communities become more healthy and
whole.

On Tuesday 15th September our journey to Heathrow was uneventful
thank goodness and we had time to re pack the suitcases and hand
luggage, well we were a few kilos overweight. We said our farewells with
just a few tears and that was from her mum and dad.

On Sunday 13th September 2009 Nicola was asked to say a few words
about her iminent trip to Uganda and Rev. Geoff Sowden gave a
dedication to her and the team she will be working with.
Just what will Nicky and the team be hoping to do?
