The sidesman was taking the collection at a fashionable London church.
He waited patiently while the visitor fumbled in his pocket.
At last the visitor sighed and gave up, muttering, "I can't find any small
change."
"That's quite all right, sir," replied the sidesman.
"It isn't small change that we want."

THE TWENTY- THIRD CHANNEL

The TV is my shepherd, I shall not want,

it makes me lie down on the sofa

it leads me away from the faith

it destroys my soul

it leads me in the paths of sex and violence

for the sponsor's sake.

Yea, though I walk in the shadow of my responsibilities

There will be no interuption

For the TV is with me

In the presence of my worldliness.

It anoints my head with humanism and consumerism.

My covetousness runneth over.

Surely lazines and ignorance

shall follow me all the days of my life

And I shall dwell in the house

Watching TV for ever.

Finally
A lady left a note in her will that she should be cremated - and her ashes
scattered over Harrods to ensure that her daughter visited her at least
twice a week.
