farewell from kat best
I moved to Highworth in September 2016 to start my placement with SWYM and St Michaels. I am very grateful to you all for the warm welcome you gave me and for letting me be a part of your church family these past 4 years. Sadly, my time here has come to an end, as this is my final year of training with SWYM and the degree. I am moving back to Weston Super Mare, where I will soon be starting a new job as the youth worker at Haywood Village Church.
I have enjoyed being part of St Michaels Church and working with the young people. There are so many highlights from my time here, like dressing up for the Christmas trails, taking the young people camping to Spree and seeing the different ways the church building can be used to serve the community. Whether it's the Remembrance Day service, Pancake Cafe, Saturday morning drop in or simply having the doors open every day for people to come in. My biggest highlight has been being able to journey with the young people for 4 years, as they explore their faith, some discovering Jesus for the first time and others growing in their relationships with God.
I would like to thank the youth team for the support you have given me, your friendships and the fun that we have shared. I have so many fond memories and I will miss working with you. I would also like to thank the young people, for accepting me as one of your leaders and for your willingness to be part of new ideas, like the youth band and the youth service. These would not have worked without you, so thank you. I would really like to thank Geoff and Bella for everything you have done. You have listened, guided, supported and encouraged me during my time here. Thank you both for all that you have taught me and the wisdom you have shared with me.
I am sad to leave without being able to say goodbye in person to you all. Thank you for having me and know that I will miss you all.
